Leg health in the workplace – top tips for adapting your work routine

For a large part of the population the journey to work is spent sitting, or even standing. This puts a lot of pressure on your legs, especially as your journey is followed by a further eight hours at work, sitting at a computer or standing.

However there are some steps that you can take to help.

During work consider the following:

  • Remember to move around at least once every hour

  • For people who spend a lot of time sitting, either at a desk or commuting, make sure you do a few seated leg stretches.

  • For people who spend hours standing as part of their work, take the time to do a few standing leg stretches.

  • Choose comfortable clothes and shoes that are not too tight and allow plenty of movement
