Common leg issues

Leg issues - lifestyle factors

Work conditions: in this day and age, most occupations do not involve much physical movement. The greatest risk factor associated with common leg issues is a job that involves standing or sitting for long periods of time, or work that involves frequent kneeling or carrying heavy loads:

Occupations at greatest risk:

  • Standing – shop steward, hairdresser, showroom assistant, chef
  • Sitting – desk workers, lorry or taxi drivers
  • Kneeling and carrying heavy loads – carpenter, builder, flooring installer.

This does not mean, however, that you have to change profession to tackle leg issues. By making a few small changes to your work routine, you can make a big difference to your leg health.
